I would say 35 is the absolute min, you should be able to amp up the weight by taking it to the archery shop
The 30# pull bows are able to kill deer, but the shots will have to be at closer ranges and you will have to be a better archer because shot placement is going to be very critical with a bow that doesn’t have as much *********** power as a larger weight pull. Practice a lot. Get good with it. Get close. You’ll be fine. But work up as soon as you are able. Good luck and good shootin’…..
Some states actually require 40 pound or more draw weight for large game animals like deer and elk, be aware of that requirement for your specific area or state. With a Compound bow the let -off at full draw will allow you to go much stronger than 30 pounds, more towards 50-60 pounds. I normally don’t have problems with even 70 pound pulls but I have some decent muscle mass and more important practice. More practice with the bow will make a huge difference swiftly.
* You can harvest any Game in North America with a 55Lb Bow, but the minimum for Deer is 35Lb, with the all around best choice is 45Lb.* Do not shoot at an Animal further than 35 yards from you.* The closer the better.*
I alwased use 65 lbs and im only 12 yrs old
